Do you mean how pointers can lead to memory leaks based on incorrect implementation? That isn't really a disadvantage of pointers, more like a problem that the developer causes.

To help others answer, could you clarify "loophole" please (it may mean something else to me than what is intended). I get the 'disadvantages' part :)
