How to code a password validator

pls mention the language name in tag ,and do some self search and link the code you have attempted so far ,
Suppose,the moment programs starts you accept a password from a user and then store it in a variable ,now you want that user can access a certain part of program only if he enters the correct password again ,so you check the new password that he enters and try to equate it with the one which was entered at the start of program ,if it's the same password you allow the user to access that specific part
