downloading a pro software from torrent or google freeways is illegal. what if i collect it from others? illegal too?

I don't afford to buy a pro one. somes are very costly and besides I don't have mastercard, paypal etc. Instead of downloading from torrents and google I can borrow it from someone I know. will it be illegal too? suppose I am in Newyork airport,USA police checks my laptop finds these pro soft and asking me "how did you get these?" I reply " borrowed from my relatives ". they will arrest me or estreat etc

You're not going to get arrested for having pirated software unless you show a clear intent to reproduce and distribute it yourself (e.g., carrying along a pile of fake installation CDs). Even then, they'd probably just get confiscated.

It's up to the copyright holders to enforce their copyright; it's not enforceable by third parties unaffiliated with the copyright holder. That said, it's unlikely that any company would bother coming after you unless you're distributing it yourself.

what about youtube videos? they say it's illegal to download them.I everyday download them and save it to in my phone
