What should be the standard frame rate for a Graphic Application?

frame rate (fps). Best frame rate to stay at without experiencing lag.

i once coded a virtual gyro compass and the feeling of a smooth natural (fast) rotation was percievable only above 50 fps. anything less than that resulted in a somewhat glitchy animation. having more details (in my case 360 segments representing the compass degrees) affects how you percieve, especially the fast transitions.

Typically between 24 - 30 FPS. Depends what type of program it is though, and other such things as ones monitor. For example, with my gaming, I easily get 120+ FPS on most games, and my monitor has a 144hz refresh rate. For normal videos, that's overkill and not really necessary.
