A delimiter is simply a character that is used to separate Information: A couple of expamples are: this,is,a,test,to,show, what,a,delimiter,is. :IN THIS CASE THE ',' is the DELIMITER, OR SEPARATOR. this-is-a-test-to-show-what-a-delimiter-is. IN THIS CASE, USING THE SAME TEXT AS ABOVE, THE DELIMITOR OR SEPARATOR IS A '-' In Excel, if you had pasted the first or second line in a cell, it would put everything in a single cell. However, when you Import the sentence and tell Excel there is a 'DELIMITOR' Splitting up the Information, then it will place each item in a different cell using the SEPARATOR ('DELIMITOR') as a way to know how to split it up. Did this Information help?

A delimiter is any character in a string used to separate values. EX: "This,is,a,sentence, that, uses, commas,as,delimiters" "This.is.a.sentence.that.uses.periods.as.delimiters." "This is a sentence that uses spaces as delimiters"
