Software testing is evergreen, on high demand always and everywhere. This is because testing itself is a very big chapter in any software development life cycle which requires a special skillset beyond what developers possess. Mastering many programming/scripting languages, automation tools and frameworks would only make you a pro in writing and executing test cases but the real testing skill is the way you look at the product under test, think testing methods from several perspectives, identify the type of testing required and converge all your thoughts into an appropriate test plan.

So, it's highly advantageous, challenging and full of opportunities if you choose software testing profession.
