There are many third party solutions where you can ask for a counter get the html code and can implement it in your source code.

If you don't want to be dependent on a third party you can also use PHP. Then you'd have to create a text file and a PHP function that increments a variable when p.e. a cookie is created so you can identify a user's session. It shouldn't be too complicated to code it yourself. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.
