What I should do to become a .net developer?

I have knowledge of c language, html and little bit knowledge of CSS. I wanted to be a php developer. But my friend told me that .net is better option than php for carrier. so that, i choosed going ahead on .net development . But I have no idea about c#.net and asp.net. Can I become a dot net developer? What should I do to become an dot net developer?

Naimish I think u should learn .net to bcome a .net developer but there is a huge scope in php tooo. Almost 20% of the websites are powered by WordPress which is a php framework. So fella its completely ur choice what u want to do. Do google if u r confused. And i would suggest u php first bcz that's what u wanted to learn n second I myself develop php sites which is very easy. And it's ur call decide wisely. All the best mate ;)

thank bro. I am being trained where a senior software developer told me that .net is better. because in php, there is 150 applicant against 10 vacany and when in .net, there is 15 to 20 applicant against 10 vacancy.
