You need to have a logical approach more than anything. Once you get your idea, lay out how to implement it in a more efficient manner (this involves pseudocoding if you must, and flow of control). Get a suitable IDE that you are more comfortable with and start writing your code. Oh, pizza and coffee too 😀, definitely!
