If all the coding languages are so different why start with something basic like html when you can jump straight to the hard one
Why not start with something relevant to the career one wants to follow. If I want to develop Video games why not start with C++. Or for mobile apps begin with Python? I don't see why a video game developer would need to learn CSS or HTML

No one would argue with you about that. :)
Learn specifically what you need for what you want to do, that's the usual recommendation.
