To be an expert in web development is not an easy feat. Times have changed and to be considered a skilled web developer you must have a complete stack. Which includes the following

1. Frontend- HTML, CSS, JavaScript(and libraries)

2. Server side programming using any language of choice. Node(Express), PHP(Symfony), Python(Django), Ruby(Rails), C#(ASP.net), Java(Spring) are popular options.

3. Database management - NoSQL or SQL databases.

4. Hosting and cloud infastructure - PaaS, IaaS, shared hosting, dedicated servers etc.

5. Search engine optimization(SEO) and speed optimization techniques(memcached etc.)

And many more that I can't think of right now

7. Version Control - Not really a web skill. It is needed by all types of software engineers. Examples include Git and Mercurial.

in my opinion you must know ajex programming language for web development because it is decided the time of loading for your webpage and i want to strongly said that nobody can complete in any subject if he believes that he has been master of that era but a little mistake of your thinking may destroy your talent and this is the reality so i request that try to learn and understand all other programming which you don't know and never stop on your way of success and make unique things at your life in any era which you can ever think.
