Not really, but I in general appreciate any evidence of endeavour, even if it doesn't prove deep knowledge. Therefore it of course depends on your capabilities. For an advanced developer it would be embarrassing to show these "certificates" for a job, especially if it's about his core skill / language. For a scholar this is completely different and even for a junior developer I would accept it as a symbol of endeavour, if it's about a completely different topic.
