why can't I challenge a follower?

does anybody know why I can't challenge a friend who just subscribed?

No, that may not be the reason for this. But he may not accept challenges with your selected weapon

Just refresh your followers list or close and open your Sololearn
And then you can challenge your followers

So, I think it will not be in the follower list or there might be reasons mentioned by you

There are many reasons for that but I think the most common one is, the person you challenge may not have set to receive challenges from the language you selected
