There's so many softwares you can use for coding such as text editor like vim, vscode, atom, sublime text, notepad++, and etc. vscode is good but if you don't have enough storage maybe don't use it. If you want lightweight use sublime text, atom, or notepad++ but if you are a keyboard warrior use vim and it is lightweight you can configure vim so you can do what you want.
Sorry if my English is not good.

Eashan Morajkar , official one? lol
Now you have to define "official"...
The original Rust compiler was written largely in OCaml.
When current, "official" compiler is written in mostly c. This compiler might be "official" but its definitely not original one....
But even though, since when do we have to use only "official" compilers?

Yes, you can use any text editor or IDE for programming, but the compiler used shoud be the same

And as you have used the "html" tag, you dont need a compiler but a good browser to show your code

Bishop Francis , actually you are one of a few people I know who uses just a notepad for coding, usually people use either more interactive text editors or proper IDEs.
Eashan Morajkar , regarding your answer, why the compiler should be the same? Nearly every programming language has multiple, different compilers. e. g. For c++ 2 main compilers are mngw and g++....

Aleksei Radchenkov python only has one official compiler, rust, etc. c++ needs third party compilers

We should use compilers that are stable, maintained and show mostly the same output on different platforms

Eashan Morajkar , rust has multiple compilers, it's just one of them is the most common one. And so does python...
And technically any compiler is third-party, as it is just a program written in other language to interpret another language.

But its the official one

I mentioned above to use any compiler that is stable, maintained and shows mostly the same output on different platforms
