There's no correct answer to this but Python has been really gaining popularity recently and it's an amazing language to start with.

In my opinion, I suggest looking what languages are most popular amongst the area you want to focus on (ex: games, mobile apps, websites etc)

I'm also considering that but since its syntax is more complicated than Python that's why I would like to figure out if it will worth my time if I'm gonna focus in Python instead.

Python is great for cross platform applications because it is a scripting language and it can run anywhere! You can also check out Java which is an other very popular cross platform language
