Why not use CSS for this?

Shouldn't stuff like "align" or "width" be defined via CSS? I have learned it's bad style to format text with HTML attributes. After all, HTML is a language for structural markup and not for style, isn't it?

it's easier to learn how to walk before you run. Learning html attributes and how they work will make the transition to css a lot easier...at beginner level

True. Consider it learning a bit of web development history but don't use it.
