Is html is still worth to be learned?

i ask this question because somebody have told me that in the future is the app centric world,and I still beginner so i need the answer.

Websites, including this one right here, uses HTML to present documentation to people on the internet. That's not going anywhere.

Don't get discouraged by that person telling you html is on its path to the south. Web and html as one of its aspects is the one that is definitely platform independent, distribution free (no need to install, updates is centralized), and more secure (most browsers support sandbox).

I strongly encourage you to learn html, there's nothing to lose from learning. Even if the rumor you heard become reality you still gain something, that is your knowledge of html, if you choose to abandon it and html survived you lose the chance to know and master it earlier.

Short answer: ABSOLUTELY!

Long answer: HTML5 is literally the first thing you learn as a web developer, then you will learn CSS (similar, different tags) for giving style to the html code/page you just wrote.

Unsolicited answer/knowledge passing: from there, you can explore various languages and choose what language you would like to use for jobs/projects/tasks. Most stablished projects will require or already have specific frameworks in play. in cases like that, you'd just be a contributor doing maintenance.
Other reasons to explore new languages is to see how easily you pick certain ones up or understand the syntax. Also, consider the type of work you will be doing. Finally, if you're a new web developer (this question makes me think you are), I strongly recommend that you take your own interests and passions into consideration when choosing operating systems and languages, which can be highly customized to be conducive to what YOU want to do.
I think of coding as a quest to become a "master builder" like in the lego movie, or like becoming "the one" in the matrix. You just took the red pill! "Welcome to the real world." Now get out there and hack the planet, as you see fit!

Well, HTML and XHTML are specific vocabulary for webpages; XML on the other hand, is the grammar for representing data. If you plan on building apps, you could use a WebView and render HTML or XHTML inside of it, but you'd be much better off learning XML for that matter.

I should probably add that if you're looking into learning something that's going to be useful for the future, then in my opinion, learning Virtual Reality (VR) now is similar to learning HTML in the 90's :)
