Depends on what type and level of gamming you wanted to program if it's just 2D then trust me it's good for learning but productivity comes when whatever you've made is also saleable and need for gammers. If we talk about mini games the then look around GBA (GameBoy Advance) ,Nitendo etc. If you wanted to skilled up more and gain fast learning work with Unity3D ,etc those platform which provides python integration with gamming component then we just have move a MODEL(OBJECT) with one function call 😉

any type of game.. there are a lot of 3rd party libraries for achieving that.. Pygame for 2d games and Panda3D for 3D games
