How come sometimes when you use the 'if' statement and then the 'else' statement, you get a syntax error saying 'else:' is an error?

I didn't actually get the thing - "ArrayList are for random access of data whereas LinkedList are for huge no of deletions and insertions".

the thing I don't get is the reversenum part......isn't reversenum=0 so wouldn't reversenum*10=0
