If you want to get started with a Programming language, I'd suggest Python or JavaScript. Both of them are very popular and widely used and relatively easier to learn as compared to other languages.

I guess English? Honestly, I don't even know if programming languages are even written in other languages. As for programming languages, I don't base the things that I do on if they're the simplest/easiest. If I approach life in that way, I'd always pick the lazy route and always remain a lesser version of myself than I could potentially be. Easy route isn't always the best route. Better question for you though. What are your short/long term goals? That's the best question you can ask yourself at the moment. For example, if you plan to specialize in something that revolves around Java, then I highly recommend placing your focus on Java first and foremost. If you won't be using Python in the foreseeable future, then don't waste your time and efforts there. They're like tools on a tool belt. Each are useful in their own right and some work better in certain situations than others. However, as you move along you'll continue to obtain new tools to place on your belt and you'll be able to pull whichever one out that you need at the time. Best of luck! If you don't know what you want to do, try starting with Java or C#. They're both "easy" languages to learn and they utilize syntax that's similar between most mainstream languages, which will assist when you learn the others.
