Voodoo mode?

So I was writing this calculator. I made a table with an input in a <tr> tag, but accidentally forgot the <td> tag. I got a very strange error. "Unexpected start tag (input) in table context caused voodoo mode". I've heard of voodoo programming. But what is voodoo mode?
