What can I do to improve my problem solving skills?

So I don't exactly have the best problem solving skills. I really struggle here and I get discouraged whenever faced with a problem that seems even a little bit tougher than any of the problems I've solved. I programming evem for me if I can't get past this?

Lego. Play with Lego bricks, and no, I'm not joking.

Look at kids build something and break it. Their brains then go into problem solving mode to see can they remember the steps to build what they broke.

Problem solving skill improves when you solve problems.

Problem is, it isn't necessarily a quick progression. You have to be patient.

Key is to choose tasks that are not to easy and not too hard. When you read the description, you should have a general idea of how to tackle it, but you'll have to research, google, test, debug, struggle a bit until you get it right.

Gradually, your 'problem-solving muscle' grows.
