How to start understanding Coding better and Utilize it practically?

Worked as an Electrical engineer for 5 years Want to start learning programming and utilize it for future work advancement. Please advise which language I should focus on. I do have some experience with Java and SQL.

Hello Simranjeet Singh You can learn many diferent programming (and not programming too) languages. But it is fundamental to understand why you wanna learn. You said you want it for future advancement. Although there are unlimited possibilities with coding. If you wanna work with research I really recommend you look fot R(statistical) or Python (Data Science). I'm an electrical engineering student. You can use Python to better understand the energy distribution, calculate probabilities of certain event to happen or even integrate Python with a website or data. But if you pretend learn about software engineering, create Apps, games or stuffs like that is C#, C++ and keep working with Java if were that you want.

First thing I wanna say is that you should have a burning desire for coding. This will help you persist I recommend JavaScript for you and just keep learning and practicing until it becomes a habit Try making some small applications Also, here's a big tip: READ THE ENTIRE CODE It seems insignificant but lack of it causes all sorts of confusion Try to read the code aloud if possible
