This is an opinion question that's based on personal taste. What one person likes, you may dislike so it is hard to give an answer. You can do your own research of good coding laptops by going on YouTube and looking up using a query similar to your question.

If you want a laptop for coding, make sure to have 8gb ram, SSD 512gb and if you need more for storage purposes then just get an external HDD and 4 core 8 threads processor (AMD/Intel)
You might also want to practice coding in Ubuntu(Linux platform), it helped me boost my skills and productivity for dev.
Company and price depends on your budget. But if you have these then it can help you if you aim to work with new technology stacks. Helped me atleast.

Any with a 15.6 display screen. Core i5 and 8GB ram.128GB SSD. The Brand don't matter they all use the same internal parts. Maybe you like the design of one more than the other. Choose the one that looks nice to you. And have the minimum specs I listed.
Depending on your budget get one with even better specs.

Jacob Tracey anything can run linux. A little known fact is that 90% or greater of all networks and computers use a form of Unix or derivative. Your home router, linux, the ISP router in the NAT firewall you might have before your home router reaches the www, linux. All Androids are a butchered derivative using linux. Ive never failed to put linux on any of my devices ever. Its about which distribution you choose to run on it. Linux by faaaar outperforms windows and as of today very few devices are fully unhackable (in fact probably not one) to putting linux on it.

Windows is absolutely not Unix based. DOS was made using C# which is object oriented programing. If the latter part is wrong at the very least windows has no root from Unix.

Apple is better than windows because it uses a lot of similar Unix like commands and construct. LMAO its better because of Unix/Linux.

DO NOT PROGRAM ON A WINDOWS MACHINE. That is all. If you fail my advice I will be there to laugh. In spirit. Or something.

Mac is a derivative of BSD which is a derivative of Unix. In fact an apple computer is better to program on BY FAR than windows. Windows being so candy ass GUI based and so proprietary took away any functionability as an OS for programming on. In my mind its absolutely ludacris to think what one would need a windows server for. And as a business pay a quarter million dollars per month for 5 cpu cores and a licence.

Unix > Posix > BSD + Linux (free open source) as far as I remember.

Jacob Tracey you dont use the same programs on linux as you would on windows. You would thr equivilent that does the same thing as well yoyr workflow is likely enhanced as opposed to using VSCode for everything.
