I don't know much about Canada but I do know about programming. And the answer on this question depends on what you want and like to do most. Do you want to make enterprise applications, video games, websites or apps. And are you more a front-end or back-end guy really makes a difference in the set of languages you use.

And c++ or c# if you want to make a lot of money. well that's not true, it mostly comes down to your skills and experience. I have worked with scss (a CSS variant) programmers who made over 300 euro per hour. Because he was so good at his job.

So I recommend you this: figure out what you like to make, and look for a job offer and make notes of the skills they ask of you, and take a look at those skills and languages and give it a try.
