How to crack open programs?

Last week I had some malware on my PC. It wasn't anything serious, but still I removed it through AVG. After a few hours I thought it was too bad, because I actually would love to crack it open, see the code and get to know how it works. Can anyone please explain (and please keep in mind that i'm relatively a beginner in the tech world) how to do that? I understand that it probably isn't easy, because developers want to protect their programs/codes, but I can't imagine that it would be impossible.

I think you should watch/read tutorials about exploiting trojans/backdoors via a pdf file to start with. Its really basic and you will manage to learn it, i am sure :) If you really want to deepdive.. look up some courses on Udemy on your topic when there is a sale! Good luck! Btw to be sure your PC is really save i would recommend back-ups and a clean install when you had malware
