How much data is required to download linux on your pc?And how can you dual boot using both windows as well as linux?

It depends on the linux distribution you want. Linux mint 18.1 is roughly 2Gb. Dual boot is a bit complicated, if you want Windows and linux I would recommend using a virtual box. Windows 10 is approx. 4Gb big, you van use it without a license, just that you will be missing some features like changing the background. The size usually depends on the OS Image you are going to download. While some OS Images are as small as 300 MB, some can be as large as 4 GB. you can also have both OS using a grub and installing them in different partitions or even in different hard drives

i would suggest you use virtualization. virtual box is pretty easy and allows you to try almost any os.
