Do you want to tell me there is no other way to delete a Sololearn Account than writing a mail to sololearn? How unprofessional is that? Can't they just make an "delete my account"-button and require your password for deletion?

Moderating a community constantly relies on logs. Our actions are based on evidence obtained through historical data. To provide a user with the ability to deactivate his/her own account would be to provide the ability to wipe logs, at least on a level where it would undermine our efficiency. As for the gdpr link you quoted, a user can delete his own personal information without deactivating his/her own account (which ultimately erases your profile activity and not your personal information). There is no conflict of interest here.

N00B The user himself will then also be able to create an arbitrary number of fake accounts whose trace of existence and activity can be wiped out at will.

N00B And how is that claim true, when it has been made clear that a single email to SoloLearn would allow you to do so? (...The data subject shall have the right to obtain from the controller the erasure of personal data concerning him or her ...) Note: to obtain from the controller. It is also in the link you provided, that paragraph 3 clearly states the few exceptions to the rule, where data can be retained. https://gdpr-info.eu/art-17-gdpr/ 3) ... d) ...for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific or historical research purposes or statistical purposes in accordance with Article 89(1) in so far as the right referred to in paragraph 1 is likely to render impossible or seriously impair the achievement of the objectives of that processing...

N00B I'm not sure how you are going to do that, seeing that you've put up no counter to whatever that I've stated. I'm no lawyer, but feel free to entertain me, or the administrators, for that matter. It's weird that every time I'm around, you resort to a rest or a nap. I have a feeling that it does not have to do with time zones. Till next time.

I could deactivate it, technically. But I don't think I'm supposed to. Follow Stellar Fox's advice.

Hatsy Rei Why? The only one who can delete the account is the account holder himself. Because only he/her/it knows the password. What is abuse on deleting your own account? Please enlighten me.

Hatsy Rei Ah, well thanks for enlightening me. But not deleting log information = not GDPR compliant. Well then, let's try to sue Sololearn. :D

Hatsy Rei In their Privacy Policy. https://www.sololearn.com/Contact/ Ugh, incomplete Contact page. That doesn't look good... I'll conduct a few tests on this company. Thanks for helping me out. Don't worry, I won't directly sue you. Sololearn is awesome ;) Until then. I have to take a nap. I'm tired.
