How to build and upload a website.

Hello. I'm new for uploading websites and i never tried to do something like this before, so i need your help. You know i was always building websites just for experience, i never upload one before.

So give me some instructions.
I'm thinking to use bootstrap and vue js.
My problem is not about styling but after the web site finish.
My first question is, if it is save to have my html files with code uploaded on a server (if thats the only that i need) or i need to do something else to protect my code?
Will i need to do something else?
If i rent a server and upload my files how this works? How to set the domain name to my web site? How i will set my main html file as the file that visitors will see first when they open the web site.
Well lets think that i done all what it needs, how easy will be to make changes to my code if it needs changes?

I'm sorry for my bad english but help me, i have no experience about setting a web site online.
