Well, as far as gaming a solid CPU around 4-6 cores, a motherboard that can support 32GB of RAM, a decent solid state drive 250GB and up, and a GPU around 4GB GDDR5 should be enough to handle that. I have built PCs with fewer specs than that which were capable of handling those kind of games. I would recommend a power supply unit that could handle at least 600W-800W. Check the costs of wattage for each component and add it up to make sure you get good range. The main thing is having a viable CPU, GPU, and enough RAM.

As far as your AI computing, you may need a bit more or less depending on the complexity of your program. There are GPUs designed specifically for AI computing that can be very pricey. Much more so than a GPU that is more than capable of handling high-end online video games.

Well, type of games and what type of A.I. are you planning? These parameters are needed because you can build a decent gaming system for much cheaper than an exclusive A.I. system.
A gaming GPU would be much cheaper than an A.I. GPU, for example.

When you do your searches, make sure to do so based on specifically what you need accordingly. Things like "gaming GPUs" and "AI GPUs" will give you completely different results. Also make sure that whatever CPU you purchase, you get a motherboard that is compatible with it.

well the ai we are wanting towork on we would like to have it replicate the human brain, robotics, chat bots and 3d rendering and modeling plus game modding. as of the game types it would be games like call of duty, fallout4 and skyrim, plus need it to be able to handle computer science college work.

well we were thinking about an amd treadripper 1920x for the ai but we wanted to make shure it wouldnt bottle neck too much in the gaming but we are ok with slight bottle necking due to the fact it would mainly be a workstation pc
