Why is virtual machine better then dual boot

If you just want to run a second operating system, use dual boot. If you are going to run malware or otherwise destroy the system, use a VM.

the reason most people use virtual oses is because of the complications of dual booting virtual boxes are good because you dont need to reboot when you need to acces something on another os (such as grub-mkrescue on linux, used to develop operating systems which is not available in windows) also so that if malware does get onto it it doesnt have acces to your hardware directly or indirectly keeping tour files safe
