I have no experience with this, but am just brainstorming. The answer depends entirely on the sizes of the shapes. Are all the squares uniform in size? The circles? Squares can tessellate but circles cannot. It might be efficient to cut squares from one section with zero waste, and circles from another section with a little waste. If the squares are smaller, they might fit in the gaps between circles. If the shapes are varying sizes, then there are more possibilities.
