Best IDE for Learning to Code on a Laptop?
Hello Sololearn community, I'm relatively new to coding and have been using Sololearn's mobile app for a while. Now, I want to transition to working on my new AI laptop [ https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/lenovoauraedition/ ] for a more comprehensive learning experience. I find the larger screen and physical keyboard more comfortable for longer coding sessions. Could anyone recommend a beginner-friendly IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that works well on a laptop? I'm learning Python and JavaScript, so it should support these languages. Also, any tips for making the best use of Sololearn’s lessons on a laptop? Thanks in advance!

I would recommend you to use Visual studio code which is very popular and has many supporting extensions which helps you in acing the command over any language like python or javascript. It has some shortcut keys too which helps you to do tasks in just a click. Furthermore you need to install python and the latest is 3.12 and for javascript you can use node.js or next.js or anything which you feel comfortable all have their own pros and cons. Kindly check out the manual of VS code for effective use of it. Happy Coding!!

I don't recommend vscode! it is a spy and steals data!
better to use VSCodium. at the moment that's the best, the other safe to use is Zed

VsCode is the standard for most programmers these days. Find the top extensions for your language.

Pycharm community (without any doubt)
Pycharm professional is the premium version (u can shift to it anytime u might want)
I'm assuming u re starting with python
[PyCharm is the best ide for learners, vscode is not that beginner friendly nor good for learning its for professional purposes mostly]
