Advice for anyone who wants to read code to learn code for Java and XML android apps

So, in the 90's, I used Frontpage (you guys heard of that dinosaur?) to do this same thing. I would lay out some web page using the editor, then view the source code in order to see what happened, why, and how to manipulate it. You can use the app Sketchware to do this with android XML and Java. Now with Frontpage you could edit the code directly and see the results, you can't do this with Sketchware but it's still cool. Not trying to direct anyone away from here, just wanted to share some useful information. I've seen a lot of questions asking for tutorials on this or just questions about android, and that's not really covered here. I haven't delved into the Sketchware app much, so I can't really tell you how useful it is, but I wanted to bring up that feature specifically for anyone who wanted to check it out. Also, since this is Q & A, I'll add a question. Does anyone else know of another program like this? Maybe for different languages? Or any cool tricks to help beginners / intermediate coders understand or see their code in a different light? Thanks
