Yes Yes Yes! You can develop Android apps using Java and XML on Android Studio. Alternatively, you can use AIDE on your tablet or Android phone, the languages you'll use is still the same Java and XML. Java is the native language for developing android apps so emphatically yes. Download Android Studio and try it out if you haven't already. I'm sure that'll clarify you even further..

Yeah of course. Android studio is purpose built for developing android applications using java and xml. I've done it myself.

Java is the foundation on which Android is seating. actually, the core java (OOP). Android is then developed on top of it as an API. You cannot develop android apps straight from Java, but your knowledge of Java is the most important boost. Even if you can develop Android apps using native and kotlin, java remains by far the main asset.
