What is the best programming language on the basis of application?

I mean to say among the wide variety of good programming languages available at hand, which language should be learned deeply which can offer working over different type of fields

@Domenic Mitri Quoting C++ as "Jack of all trades" is quite inaccurate, although I do concur that it has a wide field of uses. @Mainak Dhara Just based on the current form of your question, any general-purpose programming language would suit your needs. Perhaps be even more specific? Which platform d you plan to develop on, and for what purpose? Game development? Web application?

If I am reading right, I am thinking you mean what is the best jack of all trades language? In that case, C++

You need to be a little more precise with your answer. This is extremely vague

None. Programming languages are easy. It's algorithms and logic which you should focus on more.

@Hatsy Rei as I am a newbie I haven't really developed interest in any particular field so I can't really help with that.
