the trick maybe is to avoid worrying too much about how much you don't know, and keep learning a bit everyday. then look back and consider how much you progressed over the last weeks/months, realize you find it easier to understand articles and answer questions over time... this is what could help get confidence and keep getting even better!

FAIL means First Attempt In Learning so don't worry about anything. just try to do your best. one day you will absolutely conquer your fear.

It takes focus dedication and consistent. Focus on a single topic of study. Trying to tackle multiple topics at once will become very overwhelming. Be dedicated, spend 5 min a day, learning a section, or an element. Aim for 15- 30 min daily, increase the time, gradually as you become comfortable with learning for extended sittings. Be consistent, Follow sololearns, learning path. See it to the end. Don't worry if you don't fully understand everything as you read; You will see many of the essential elements again, and again. Thus you will learn by repetition. Good luck happy learning!

I had the same problem. I wouldn't be able to code daily, and make up excuses for it. I needed someone to hold me accountable for what I do, and watch me. The solution was I started #100DaysOfCode on Twitter. Where you post everyday what you did that day. It really is an amazing feeling. And it works! I'm on 41st day right now.

Just Learn it your self . . . and very important thing is to make your own code for every single thing u learn .... like it can be on if-statement in js or SVG in html or any thing even small tags like <br>,<hr>, etc...and then try to make a website using all the codes you learnt ...just do this and then . . .#no_one_can_drag_you_down!

I try to find my own motivation. It's harder somedays then others. Right now i'm incredibly broke and feel like the world's against me so what gives me the most motivation is looking toward the future i could have with this career. I can't afford college so everything is riding on this. I also find motivational songs and posts about overcoming tough obstacles and beating the odds. Good luck in your code, i hope my post helps! You can do this!! ~Treat

Hi, My advice is to have a schedule. It doesn't have to be very tight but if you want to improve your skills you need practice and a plan will help you to stick to it. For example: learn and do exercises in html every day for one hour for next 2 weeks and then for two hours and so on. After making an improvement reward yourself. You deserve it! ☺ And don't worry too much. I know, it is easier to say than to do. Think about it how good you become in few weeks 🙂

no one ever gets to where they are going without failures. you succeed by learning from your failures. if you don't fail, your not reaching the limits of your abilities. to extend your limits: fail - learn - repeat. i'll bet that when you learned to read, you failed many times. if you didn't, you are a machine (not human).

this is the thing.... if you think you can do it, you will. if you think you can't, you will not (unless you change your mind) :-)

it's really hard at the beginning. I thought coding just wasn't my thing. But eventually, things start to 'click' if you stick with it. take free courses. do every tutorial you can find. try the code. Try making a different code using some of the things you are struggling to learn. Read every book you can find. Watch videos. listen to podcasts. try and make everything from scratch to get a better understanding of what you're doing. feel proud for every step ahead you make. You can do it. Patience, repetition and practice makes you better. A master violinist doesn't just pick up a violin and play well instantly! coding is a profession and an art form. Learn your style and you will find a new way of looking at the world. :)

first take a piece of paper and write ehat you want to build (example BMI calculator). Than write down what that BMI calc (example) needs to have (height, weight, result). When you write all than start making it. After that you can improve your calc or extend with more options that you learn.

@Whittney (and @others who doubt themselves) You have got several replies with good advice on how you can proceed with learning and how important it is to belief you can do it. We have to go one step further, we have to figure out if we have a fixed or a growth mindset. According to the research of Professor Carol Dweck (Stanford University) the growth mindset is the foundation of learning. I have selected three of the best (and shortest) videos for an introduction to this topic. Can you afford 24 minutes? 1) TED Talk (Carol Dweck): The power of believing that you can improve (10:24 min). This video has subtitles in 42 languages. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_X0mgOOSpLU 2) Whiteboard Video: Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset (5:03 min). This video has subtitles in 12 languages. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUWn_TJTrnU&t=13s 3) Explainer Video: Growth Mindset Introduction: What it is, How it Works, and Why it Matters (8:25 min) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75GFzikmRY0 I hope these videos inspire you.
