First day of month in Python. How?

Question

Greetings.

I'm trying to create a Python code which asks the user for a month and year and then gives the 1st day of that month and where it falls in that week
eg:
Enter the month: March. (user inputs)
Enter the year : 2012. (user inputs)
The 1st of March 2012 is a Thursday (the output)
