Try to learn more deep, dont stop to a language... A language is a tool and an abstraction of computer system then if you understand better it you can use better the tool... Futhermore there are some useful fields that apply to all computer programming field: Data structures, Alghoritms, Software Architecture... I think that these are minimal subject to know and learn to be in right position for get best understanding of general programming
