I guess the knowledge you seek is on how to use Git? Github is pretty straight forward I guess and otherwise use Google or another search engine to look up some tutorials for Github.

Building an app on the other hand can be really complex. What is it you want to build? I would recommend starting to define that first and then moving on by selecting the stuff/tools you need for your application.
