So, python is fun and I love coding with it but all my school classmates code in c++.

Question

I stared programming one year before high school and now I'm stuck cause I've been practicing python a lot. I was able to keep up with my other classmates 2 years so far but now the teacher tries to separe both of them. I'm just confused if I should keep getting better at python, or should I let it in the "closet" for sometime and get a better sight at c++

If for you learning or focusing some time on C++ is just because of your other classmates, I say don't do it. To me at least, there is no point in doing things I don't enjoy and Python has loads of interesting applications so it is not like you are at a disadvantage either... The expertise you will gain in Python will make it easy for you to adapt to the syntax and particularities of other languages later anyway.

I suggest you to just make time for both. Just keep both of them separate. Don't think about python while in school, but meanwhile at home, work on it too. Take interest in C++ too. Get better at it too. Realize its advantages, and try to work with both. If you leave any one of them, it might be disadvantageous for you if you are "really good" at Python.
