to whom as, for me personally it seems that the backend is easier to understand. I didn't know much about it, though. frontend is not only programming, but also design, layout. HTML and CSS are easy to learn(basics), but everything else will be more difficult.

Which developer is better is based on your interest, if u like designing, styling, user experience then it is front end. On the other hand backend includes the functionality, data handling, modeling.
