Why is Linux a better OS than Windows for hosting the Sololearn Application server?

Why the recent decision to migrate?

One of the biggest factors could be that in order to continue using microsoft server they would have to purchase another version due to the end of support. With linux the upgrades are free and therefore it is cheaper to keep a linux server up to date with whatever security or software patches that become available.
