Python 3.8 gone?

Why has Sololearn switched back to an earlier version, does anyone know?

I'm wondering if there's a more valid reason than plain old negligence.

I've started to use The Walrus (tm) in my codes here, and now when people try to run them, they'll get an error.

I'm sure at some future date, SL will reintroduce 3.8 with no warning to the user's as is usually the case.

I guess the system upgrade also meant some languages downgrade. The mods need to check this and fix it

I think as they have changed the OS on which it is running🤔
They changed it to linux few weeks back

I certainly hope so.

I don't want to look through all my code and see if it still runs to prevent that people start to downvote it.

Also, earlier C(++) code of mine suddenly throws warnings, while earlier it ran without problems.

I think Python 3.7 is ok. It is assured that it will run in versions to come HonFu Linux has python 2x and 3x. My linux machine has python 3.7 pre installed
but because of the assurance of py 3.7 working in future versions, People relax with having python 3.7

HonFu I think C++ code giving warnings is a good thing. It probably means that your old code was not ideal.

Coding Einstein, 3.8 is stable though. And it was already in use here, and everyone started to use the walrus and now these codes don't run anymore.

The only logical explanation is that they either experienced some issues when dealing with Py3.8 or they had some problem installing the latest version on the new server, so they just used the version that was already installed.

Either way, they'll probably fix that soon.

HonFu Very true. Most of my codes dont work, it used to. I have to keep pushing the damn run button again and again. It was the code of installing foreign modules temporarily for a code or project
