Does we need a hosting and domain for my personal portfolio??

I want to design my portfolio but i am confused for how to buy hosting and domain for my personal portfolio.And please tell me how add my more projects on portfolio.

For domain registration service, I heard that some people uses Hostinger and some people uses Godaddy. These are paid service. You have to pay annually

If you want to use free host, try Github Page for static site, and Heroku if you know backend.
