How acting name and value in HTML

Question

I read many comments, but anyway can not understand what attributes name and value do ? What it gives for user, cos output we getting same. No matter what name or what value we are giving. I understand now if for type 'radio' we will give different names, we will can check both boxes. But I want to ask not that. If I give for example type 'radio' name=beast value=male
name=beast value=female
Would it be a different answer if I would say name=gender value=male
and name=gender value=female ??
Types 'radio' and 'checkbox' I understand, that like functions giving for computer commands what will need to do. It is created for HTML like tags, but name ar value, can I use my ones, even i want to know answer about gender, for example name= blablabla value=chachacha???
