Hi, i am completely new into python would like to know what is a float.

it is a dataype that stores decimal numbers.

2.0 is a float.
2 is an Integer

'float' stand fot FLOATing point number, as they handle a decimal part after a moving dot ( can be one ore me digit in front of ), and are store in a special way... contraly to INTegers, which can be stored without special codification ( computers handles integer basically ).
