Making image gallery using html

Question

We were tasked to make an image gallery using html. But our teacher asked us to make three versions of the code, namely; external css, internal css, and inline css. I tried searching for some clarifications on what were the difference between the three. But I couldn’t find anything that makes me understand. Can someone explain it to me what were the difference between the three? And some examples as well? Thank you in advance.
