HTML and HTML5 Difference

Can anyone explain what are difference between html and html5 besides new tags? Such as how it affect the performance cross-browser?

It's optimised to be the very best. Long gone are the days of importing DTD Files, now you just slap on the Doctype and you're set. Performance isn't an issue anymore: your modern browsers can withstand up to and probably more than 20 Tabs playing Youtube videos all at once - thanks to efficiencies included in the browser and the refined syntax for our HTML markup. The load is lighter and it's easy to use. As well as all that, newer iterations of HTML will always be compatible with older versions - excluding separate sister-languages. So, in summary: ye olde HTML4 is dead, Newer and Modern Designed HTML5 is storming the internet - bringing speediness, ease of use and cross-compatibility to everyone. </html>
