What is Software Engineering?

I’m currently almost done with my first semester in my CS degree and I’m ecstatic about the later classes I️ need to take later in my degree! One of those later classes I need to take is Software Engineering. However, I️ don’t know too much about it, but I’m curious if anyone could inform me more about it and what programming languages I️ should learn to be ready to study it. Thanks so much!

software engineering is a specialized discipline of the very broad sector, Computer Science. It involves the study of all the processes involved in creating a software: the inception (idea), the implementation (coding and testing) , and the operation and maintenance (the release and updating) of the software.
